We want our Ynzal back!

YNZAL Marketing Corp. is one of the best, if not THE BEST, Apple dealer in the country. Because of ONE customer dispute, Apple has chose to pull Ynzal's accreditation as an authorized seller of its products in the Philippines. NOT FAIR!

The benefits of having Ynzal as an Apple dealer far outweighs whatever one problem it had with one customer. And come on, these guys have been around for 9 years already. So give us a break.

Aside from giving its customers very reasonable prices on Apple products and especially really fabulous steals during its clearance sales, Ynzal's customer service is just the best there is. Its staff is its best asset because they will talk to you through any problems you may have (and with Apple products, these are very few really) and answer any questions or concerns on your purchase.

So may I ask all of you, especially those who've purchased products from Ynzal, to please sign this petition to be sent to Apple. Hey Steve Jobs! we want our Ynzal back!

(And P.S. Ynzal says it's not closing down despite this misunderstanding with Apple. So sige, go ahead, sign na!)

What was the customer dispute about or more importantly, WHO was the customer? (Roopa? Greta? Isdatchu?) Did it involve the customers ego being bruised resulting in said customers "pulling weight"?

No it was some idiot TV reporter named RG Cruz (ABS CBN). Didn't have enough money to buy a new MacBook so he got the demo unit. Long story. Didn't have enough smarts to figure out the problem with the logic board, either. He blamed Ynzal, dumiretso sa DTI when he didn't get the freebie he wanted, threw his weight around sa Apple Singapore, so they acted and pulled out Ynzal's license. What a jerk.

Before receipt of Apple's formal notice, Ynzal was given verbal word by Apple that based on their internal investigations regarding the unit of RG Langit, they found that Ynzal committed fraud. Fraud in the sense that they claimed warranty multiple times using RG Langit's serial number even after they sold the unit to him. And with "Fraud" alone as the basis, Apple's policy is Zero Tolerance hence the immediate termination.

I heard that this was immediately rectified. Ynzal admitted it made a mistake as one of its staff had made a typo in the serial no.

As for RG Langit/Cruz, he has a brand-new Macbook courtesy of Ynzal. Hmmm...

Anyhoo, we're still waiting for word from RG himself.

I am posting this for the sake of clarification, since a lot of speculation and false information has been going around on the the circumstances if Ynzal's termination.

This is a personal accounting and how it transpired as I know it. This is in no way an official accounting by either party as I have not directly been in contact with neither Bong Almonguera of Ynzal, nor RG Cruz Langit, the person who filed the complaint against Ynzal. This a summary based on this third person's point of view.

Last year, RG Cruz (a.k.a. Rey Cruz Langit), a reporter for ANC, went to Ynzal and traded in his old iBook for an open-box MacBook. He was aware of the open-box (but unused) condition because he was given a very low price for it.

The reason it was an open box was because it went through numerous trips back to Microwarehouse, the distributor who supplied the unit to Ynzal. I don't know if RG was aware of these repairs though, but as far as Ynzal was concerned, the unit was guly repaired and free from any issues, hence it was ready to be sold, but not as a brand new unit.

About a month ago, the unit broke down. RG went back to Ynzal to claim warranty service, since the unit was less than a year old. This is where the problem started. Because the machine was dead, and for some odd reason, its serial number was physically missing from the battery bay, there was no way to find out the serial number which was necessary for the service process. They tried to reference his sales invoice, but that too did not have it. Presumably a clerical error, it indicated his old iBook's SN and not the MacBook's.

During one of his follow ups, he was told by one of the Ynzal sales staff that the servicee staff was having a difficult time claiming warranty, and that he MIGHT have to pay for repair, From that, RG immediately wrote DTI and Apple Singapore an email of complaint. Apple then acted upon this complaint and instructed Ynzal to immediately replace the unit with a brand new one, Ynzal complied.

Before receipt of Apple's formal notice, Ynzal was given verbal word by Apple that based on their internal investigations regarding the unit of RG Langit, they found that Ynzal committed fraud. Fraud in the sense that they claimed warranty multiple times using RG Langit's serial number even after they sold the unit to him. And with "Fraud" alone as the basis, Apple's policy is Zero Tolerance hence the immediate termination.

The next day, Ynzal received Apple's notice via courier, informing them of the Reseller Sales Agreement for both iPod and CPUs pursuant to clause 13 B of their Agreement with the effectivity date on July 29, 2007. Clause 13b of their contract that says Apple can terminate the Agreement with any reseller with or without any cause

Ynzal has filed a formal appeal. PhilMUG, without the knowledge of Ynzal, through its Board of Directors, administrators and moderators, has sent Apple its own letter of appeal and letter of support for Ynzal. So far, Apple seems to remain steadfast in its decision, but we both are hopeful that this decision is not yet final.

Yeah, I read the Philmug post as well but I'm still hoping RG himself clarifies this issue. And yes readers, RG's real name is Rey Cruz Langit!!! Kalowka! Sa true lang, laglag ako sa upuan ko when a friend told me...sabay halakhak! No offense RG. Cute actually. And Rey Langit is actually a cool guy inspite of his big hair ;))

Anyhoo, we are monitoring the developments in this case. Hopefully, Apple reconsiders. Hoy Steve Jobs parang di ka din nagkakamali sa life mo ever ha! Give Ynzal a break. Sige ka, I won't get an iPhone...hmmph!
